Vinyl & Luxury Vinyl Plank (LVP) Flooring
Waterproof, pet-proof, and remarkably real-looking, luxury vinyl plank has become the most-requested floor in the DMV — and for good reason.
Overview
Vinyl Flooring Done the Right Way
Waterproof, pet-proof, and remarkably real-looking, luxury vinyl plank has become the most-requested floor in the DMV — and for good reason. F&F Surface Group installs rigid-core SPC and glue-down LVT that stands up to Washington-area kids, dogs, basements, and busy commercial spaces without giving up the warmth of a wood look underfoot.
Why DMV Homeowners Choose Vinyl Flooring
- 100% waterproof — safe for kitchens, baths & basements
- Rigid SPC core resists dents and stays flat over subfloor flaws
- Realistic wood, stone, and tile visuals with textured surfaces
- Click-lock float or glue-down installs for any space
- Commercial-grade wear layers for offices and retail
Best Rooms & Uses
Our Installation Approach
We assess the subfloor for flatness and moisture, then float rigid-core planks over a quality underlayment or trowel down glue-set LVT where zero movement matters. Doorways are undercut, transitions are color-matched, and quarter-round or reset base hides the expansion gap. Most rooms are walkable the same day.
Caring For Your New Floor
Sweep and damp-mop with a vinyl-safe cleaner — no wax, no polish, no steam. Felt pads under furniture and doormats at entries keep the wear layer pristine for decades.

Testimonials
What DMV Homeowners Say
“Fred and his team refinished the original oak in our 1940s Bethesda house and it looks better than any new floor we considered. Dust-contained sanding meant we could stay home the whole time.”
“We put waterproof LVP through the whole main level and basement. The seams are invisible and it has already survived two kids and a dog. Fair price, spotless job site.”
“F&F installed wide-plank white oak across our entire first floor. The transitions and stair work are flawless — you can tell these are real craftsmen, not a subcontracted crew.”

FAQ
Vinyl Flooring — Common Questions
Is luxury vinyl plank really waterproof?
Rigid-core SPC vinyl is 100% waterproof — the plank itself won’t swell or warp from spills, pets, or basement humidity. That makes it the top choice for DMV kitchens, baths, and below-grade rooms.
Can vinyl be installed over my existing floor?
Often, yes. Click-lock SPC floats over level tile, plywood, or old vinyl without demolition, which saves labor and cost. We check the subfloor and tell you whether a float or a glue-down is the better call.
How is LVP different from laminate?
Both give a wood look for less than hardwood, but LVP is fully waterproof while laminate is only water-resistant. In wet rooms or basements we steer you to vinyl; in dry living areas laminate can be a great value.
